Medicare Open Enrollment
Oct 15 – Dec 7 all-day

October 15-Dec 7                        

It is important that you have your current plan checked during the open enrollment period which ends Dec 7th.  To schedule an appointment with an APPRISE Counselor to help you choose, please call the Union Snyder Agency on Aging at 570-524-2100 or 570-374-5558.  Remember to bring the following:  All insurance cards including Medicare, Driver’s license or Photo ID, A list of current medications, last year’s income verification if applying for PACE, and current income verification to apply for pharmacy extra help or state coverage for your Medicare Part B premium.

Performers Needed for Generoo’s Winter Extravaganza
Oct 31 – Nov 1 all-day

The Generoo Organization, a non profit group that supports and benefits all segments of the community thru the production and coordination of cultural and educational events, is in need of performers for their December 12th event. Registration deadline to be part of the Winter Extravaganza is October 31st. Performances must be winter/Christmas themed and may include song, dance skits, choirs, ensembles. Medicare Open Enrollment To Begin

Medicare Open Enrollment begins October 15th and ends December 7th for coverage January 1. After December 7th you will not be able to choose a different plan unless you have SEP.

Even though you may be happy with your coverage it is important you have your current plan checked since plans change and currents prescriptions may not be covered for next year.

APPRISE Counselors are available by appt to help you choose a plan for 2015. Please bring all insurance cards, including Medicare, driver’s license or photo ID, list of current meds, last year’s income verification.

Volunteers Needed for LAPS Shelter

LAPS (The Lycoming Animal Protection Society) is a non profit, no kill, all feline adoption center located in South Williamsport. They are in need of volunteers to help take care of the cats. Duties include: feeding and watering, cleaning litter pans, administering medication and providing love until adoption. The shelter is vet run. Visit them online at

Annual Bazaar @ Salem Church of Rough and Ready

Stop by Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Klingerstown for food, books, movies, toys, plants, and much more!  Quilt and Wood Carving raffles also available. Independents Sales Consultants will also be displaying their favorite products!  Monetary and non-perishable food items will be collected for God’s Chuckwagon and Haven Ministry.

“Make a Blanket Day” for Project Linus @ Faith Lutheran Church

Come join Project Linus in tying knots in already prepared blankets and quilts. No skill is needed.
